When I was born, I couldn’t hear anything. My severe hearing loss led me to rely more on sight, feelings, and other senses. After my cochlear implant surgery, I have never forgotten my jubilation when I first heard sounds. Korea's five colors and the design pattern of traditional Korean ornaments were created to harmonize and make the cochlear implant that I am wearing. By applying the form of a hearing aid, as an instrument called an ocarina, the beauty of the words and sounds that my mother always spoke to me was visually expressed in powerful colors.
